The Program Description posted with the application documents contains the program details. Applications are available and accepted in English and Spanish, other languages available upon request. 

Eligible projects support resource diversion in the service area. Resource diversion means preventing materials from going to the landfill or other environmentally harmful ends, through methods such as recycling, composting, reuse, and environmental design.  Circular Economy Funding is available for education programs and the infrastructure required to support resource diversion programs and the circular economy in three (3) main categories:

Local governments, non-profits, school districts, individual schools, private companies, and incorporated or unincorporated communities may apply as long as the scope of work is within the service area. The service area includes Boulder County, the City and County of Broomfield, and the Town of Erie. Project requests may be between $1,000 - $30,000. 

Grant application period open: August 17 – September 30, 2026. Due 9/30 by 5:30pm. 

Questions due: September 1, 2026

Virtual, drop in office hours: September 1, 12 p.m. – 1p.m. and Sept. 3, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. 

Responses to questions due: September 8, 2026 (will be posted online)

Application evaluations and funding approval: October – November 2026

Announcement of awards: December 2026

Contracting: January – February 2027

Estimated start of 2027 project funding: March 2027 (funding available when all contracting is completed)

End of 2027 project funding (all invoices & final report due): December 15, 2027
