The Producer Responsibility Program for Statewide Recycling is accepting applications for the retailer or retail association seat. Pursuant to CRS 25-17-704, the retail representative who will serve as a voting member of the advisory board must not be a producer and have relevant knowledge and expertise in recycling programs or the impacts of covered materials on the state and the environment. The main purpose of the Advisory Board is to consult with and advise the Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) and the Executive Director of the Department on the implementation of the Producer Responsibility Program for Statewide Recycling Act (the Act). 

The Board is required, at a minimum, to conduct annual meetings. The Advisory Board meets once a month for business meetings, which in 2026 and beyond will occur from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Mountain Time on the second Wednesday of each month. The board has the discretion to change the meeting times, or increase or decrease meeting frequency and length based on the work level. Board members must not miss more than three business meetings in a year, and must notify the Department if they will be unable to attend. Based on the workload and timeline, the board may vote to add working group meetings to complete work outside of business meetings. These are optional but highly encouraged to attend. These meetings historically have occurred on Wednesdays at the same time as business meetings, but on the off weeks. No official business is voted on at working group meetings. Advisory board members can expect to review documents (ie. the program plan or proposed rulemaking language) outside of meeting times and come prepared to those meetings with feedback.
