CAA Colorado Operations Intern
Role Overview
CAA seeks a motivated, detail-oriented Summer Intern to support the Colorado Operations team. This role offers hands-on exposure to nonprofit operations, vendor management, market research, data validation, and external communication in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. The intern will work cross-functionally with internal teams and external service providers to support CAA’s operational and data needs throughout the summer.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enrich CAA’s vendor and service-provider database, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Conduct market research on service providers, pricing, service footprints, and competitive conditions to support procurement and planning.
- Organize and track vendor contracts and agreements, including version control, filing, and status updates.
- Support ongoing projects across Collections, Processing, and Materials team.
- Assist with professional email communications with service providers and partners, including scheduling follow-ups and tracking responses.
- Review and validate vendor reporting submissions for completeness and alignment with internal standards; flag discrepancies as needed.
- Perform general administrative and operational tasks, including document preparation, spreadsheet updates, and workflow support.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve data workflows and documentation practices.

- Mentorship and feedback from professionals in sustainability, operations, compliance, and producer responsibility programs.
- Exposure to best practices in vendor management, compliance documentation, and stakeholder communication.
- Insight into how Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs are designed, implemented, and managed at scale.
- Experience supporting multi-jurisdictional initiatives that harmonize processes, reporting frameworks, and service-provider engagement.
- Development of transferable skills in professional communication, analytical thinking, workflow discipline, and administrative excellence.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly with data and documentation
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and track follow-ups across ongoing projects
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including professional email correspondence
- Comfort working within Microsoft & Salesforce, spreadsheets, documents, and basic data validation or research tasks
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt to evolving operational needs
Qualifications
- Rising Sophomore or Junior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Operations, Analytics, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Ecology, or a related field
- Interest in operations, data workflows, cross-functional, collaboration, or nonprofit program dynamics is a plus
Compensation & Other Information
- Location: Fully Remote; working on Mountain Standard Time
- Interns must have access to high-speed internet.
